Cayne Lumley-Smith
Practitioner Psychologist
Hi, I am a Practitioner Psychologist with 21 years’ experience working in the field of psychology. I have worked in inpatient and community settings with a range of people from different backgrounds, including adults and children.
Throughout my career, I have supported many individuals to move beyond emotional health difficutlies using integrative therapeutic techniques, which means I work in a way that is specifically tailored to your individual needs.
I always aim to create a safe, non-judgemental space and draw upon psychological models to understand problems and support you to find greater wellbeing. This involves us working together collaboratively, to understand your journey so far and form a joint plan to progress towards your desired future.
I have a specific interest in trauma and use evidence-based techniques to alleviate the stress and disabling effects caused by this. This also involves adopting a holistic approach that builds on existing strengths and develops internal and external resources to create greater confidence and resilience for you moving forward.
I am trained in several therapeutic approaches including
Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR),
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT),
Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT),
